An art contest to support safety

Art is part of Lhoist culture and identity, as much as safety is. Our Central Europe unit managed to combine both and organized a children’s art competition based on the theme of "How does my mom or dad Protect their Eyes while Working at Lhoist". This competition aimed to create awareness of pattern protection in our work and create opportunities for parents and children to talk and play together while creating art.

In total, we received almost 60 exceptional submissions, done in various techniques. The youngest artist was 2 years old, with the oldest being 15. Thanks to this initiative we created a discussion on what safety means in our daily work among the youngest family members of LCE employees.

One column
A huge success for all our artists

The contest was appreciated by the workers and received a lot of positive feedback. This is the first in a series of initiatives with the goal to increase the employee’s awareness and ownership of health and safety.  Each participant received a special gift for their participation, a reflective bag with the Lhoist logo, which will make crossing the street to go to school or day care even safer. Because to us, every participant who devoted their time and creativity is a winner.

We’re proud present to you the winners of the competition, awarded by the Board of Lhoist Central Europe. Thank you to all who organized this nice initiative and participated in fostering safety culture at Lhoist!
